Dog Obedience Class - 12/9/06 - Page 2.

Finally I get Peanut to 'sit' on command... It was a struggle at first... We definitely failed the first time around the cones!!! The routine is to 'heel', stop at a cone and your dog is supposed to automatically sit when you stop... LOL... 

But of course (never fails), she's sitting the wrong way once she finally did it for me!!!



Then she decided to get the 'upper hand' on me anyway and just out and out ignore me! 

I could just 'hear' her talking to me... 'OK, I'm sitting and I'm sitting in the right direction... And I AM sitting down on this VERY COLD concrete too... But you want me to look at you too?... Momma, you MUST be out of your mind!'... LOL



And the winds are picking up... They kept blowing my hood over top of my head and into my face... And I'm supposed to have direct eye contact with my dog to practice obedience with her? HUH... Fat chance when she can't see my eyes with my hood over my head!

Even Peanut's hood blew over her head at one point! Poor Peanut!



Finally we got things in gear, doing the right things at the right time and paying attention (BOTH of us) when we're supposed to be! 



Next we reviewed the 'come' command and she got it on the first try! Hurrah for the Peanut! (I was SO proud of her!)



Now for new stuff to learn - the 'stay' command...

Well, this is sorta/kinda new for Peanut... She 'stays' when I tell her to, but she's never had to sit at the same time before... At first she chose to ignore me again, but she got better as we practiced...
